Explore the wild, Decode the genome, Transform the future

Field Ecology & Population Structure

Investigate biodiversity patterns across ecosystems, from dense forest floors to flowing streams. This focuses on field-based ecological surveys, species inventories, population assessments, and habitat characterization. Students will analyze how environmental gradients shape community composition and learn to interpret population trends in relation to ecological processes and conservation.

Molecular Systematics & Evolution

Unravel the genetic fabric of life through molecular data. This stream uses DNA sequencing, PCR-based analyses, and comparative genomics to study evolutionary relationships among species. Students will integrate molecular and morphological data to resolve taxonomy, discover cryptic species, and reconstruct evolutionary histories across Southeast Asia’s biodiversity hotspots.

Integrative Data Science & Conservation

Bridge molecular and ecological data to guide real-world conservation. This stream emphasizes bioinformatics, phylogenetic modeling, spatial ecology, and data visualization to transform genetic and field data into actionable conservation insights. Students will use modern computational tools to predict species distributions, assess extinction risks, and support ecosystem management.
